Taxis are abundant in Istanbul and cheap by Western criteria. They can be picked up at taxi ranks throughout the city or over the streets. Vacant cabs over the streets will honk at pedestrians to determine whenever they want a ride, or cabs might be hailed by pedestrians by building eye contact with the driving force and waving. Several taxi driver
